A gunman opened fire at a Target parking lot in Texas after leaving at least three people dead before trying to flee the scene in a stolen vehicle.
The alleged shooter’s identity was yet to be shared as he was described as a white man donning a Hawaiian shirt who shot at shoppers, giving rise to panic and extreme chaos at the scene.
APD officers rushed to respond to calls of a shooting at the Target located at 8601 Research Boulevard, which is right before they managed to detain the shooter.
At first, the suspect was declared to be still at large and was described as being a white male, possibly donning khaki-toned shorts and a floral shirt.
The cops had told citizens not to approach the area for their safety as he had then carjacked a vehicle inside the store’s parking lot and tried to drive away from the shooting.
He crashed that and stole another vehicle from the dealership at Volkswagen dealership. It’s still not known how far he was able to get away; he did get detained in the end.
More details about the incident were shared during the press conference, including how the suspect was tasered and taken into custody. He did have some mental health concerns and a past criminal history, but it’s not known what his real motive for the shooting was.
