Europe was recently rocked by a wild weather extreme with freak conditions comprising rolling clouds and destructive water bombs.

This included serious downpours, adding to the major chaos that was brought upon by 46-degree temperatures.

In one of several bizarre weather events to strike the continent in recent times, terrified tourists sprinted from a beach in Portugal as a mile-long tsunami-like wall of cloud lashed towards them before striking the coastline with ferocious winds.

Sources mentioned how the roll cloud phenomenon was a result of the rare combination of air masses interacting with various temperatures and sea breezes. This occurred just days after the nation boiled in record temperatures of 46.6 degrees centigrade.

Meanwhile, countries like Italy continue to be struck by catastrophic flooding and landslides with a so-called water bomb and a sudden and violent rain storm that sparked serious flash floods.

A 70-year-old man, who was identified as a greengrocer, was also killed when he was struck by a torrent of water and mud yesterday.

Witnesses detailed more about the matter, including how he was dragged away by a current and went missing for a few hours before firefighters found his remains some 400 meters away.
