A one-year-old boy was tragically killed in a road accident in Florida on Wednesday.
The boy was reportedly trying to catch the family dog when he ran into oncoming traffic and was hit by two vehicles.
The one-year-old then died in the midst of getting his dog back, his grieving family shared.
The horrifying incident happened in Daytona Beach in Florida, on Wednesday. The toddler was not identified, but it’s believed that he ran onto the busy road to try to catch the family dog, which ended up escaping.
Other horrifying details that were shared included how the impact of the crash was so intense that it sent the toddler flying in the air onto another lane.
The police rushed to the scene at about 8:21 pm and found the child with severe injuries. Bill Rhodes, who is the director of operations from the Daytona Beach Police Department, shared at the news conference that it was a traumatic and chaotic scene.
The boy was rushed to the Volusia County EMZ to Halifax Hospital but was pronounced dead.
