Scientists have reportedly made a shocking new discovery at the Great Pyramid of Giza.
According to sources from local media outlets, the groundbreaking discovery comprises a hidden corridor that nobody knew about for centuries. So as you can imagine, it’s major news.
Scientists got a first glimpse into the mysterious 30-foot-long corridor ‘likely created to redistribute the weight of the monument that’s more than 4500 years old.
The experts claim that they did not wish to damage the beautiful exterior of the historical pyramid and that’s why in 2016 when they stumbled upon this, they more or less reminded silent. Therefore, during that period, they tried to embark on designing a project that would give them a sneak peek inside at what the cavity actually held.
The authors made use of endoscopic cameras and other techniques including cosmic ray muon radiography. And that is how they would go about mapping the corridor for the first time.
When they took a closer glance, they saw how it was unfinished. They knew that it was created to build royal chambers around the period 2560 BC. And today, the great pyramid is one of the seven wonders of the world that still stands.
The process is actually really intricate and requires a lot of time. Moreover, scientists hope they can continue with the whole scanning ordeal and see what they can all do in terms of finding out what lies beneath it.
Remember, this is the first time that we’re hearing of such behavior as it’s never been seen in the past.
There is a lot of mystery as to why it was designed in the first place and what they hoped to achieve with it. But whatever the case may be, it would certainly be giving a lot of reliable information regarding knowledge of this pyramid’s construction.
