One woman is going viral with claims that she married her own pet cat because she couldn’t let him go.
Deborah Hodge says her landlord had restrictions on all pets and to help go above and beyond that very restriction, she thought it was time to think outside the box and figure out a solution.
While many may not have been as bold and daring as her. Deborah was willing to risk it all and marry her pet cat so she could move in with him as her husband.
Therefore, she married her pet in India via one loophole scheme that avoids such rental rules.
“They told me that I would no longer be allowed to bring any animals inside because they were banned in the unit. But I thought of the most wonderful solution, why don’t I just tie the knot with him”- she started to explain.
The 49-year-old who hails from London says she was tired of bidding farewell to her cats. As it is, her previous track record shows her rehoming three of her baby pets because of these very same rules. And this time around, she was willing to do whatever it takes to get her pet cat in.
As a single mom of two beautiful babies, the woman says her pet added joy to all of their lives and to randomly give them up for such a reason was not something she wished to do any longer.
“I took this huge step because I wanted to set an example for other people in India, especially those that owned property. I want them to know that my pets are my life and an integral part of my household. Therefore, people need to understand that I’m committed to doing whatever it takes to show property owners that they’re more than simple animals.”
