Multiple explosions were heard in the Indian-controlled Kashmir.

The news comes just hours after Donald Trump boasted that a ceasefire with Pakistan had been reached.

Residents shared more about how heavy and loud explosions were heard in Srinagar and Jammu, moments after a blackout was reported in both cities.

Cross-border shelling and gunfire were also reported from nearly five places along the Line of Control, a de facto frontier that divides the disputed Kashmir between two nuclear-armed nations.

A source from the Indian government on Saturday shared how it was Pakistan that violated the ceasefire, which they had agreed to a few hours back after US-led talks.

Meanwhile, a top elected official in the region shared on social media how disappointed he was to learn that a ceasefire was violated and explosions were taking place across Srinagar.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar previously declared that both sides agreed to a truce with immediate effect. He similarly shared how Pakistan has been wanting peace since day one and reserves the right to protect its territory if and when attacked.
