Pope Francis’ condition has again deteriorated, comprising respiratory failures.
His medical team was seen making an abrupt change to his treatment plan, putting him back on the ventilator with immediate effect.
The incident arose after he suffered from two new episodes of respiratory crises as per the Vatican’s latest report.
The news comes after the weekend when the pontiff was said to have rested well and was on the road to recovery. But today’s news was drastically different. It served as proof that he is still in danger.
Recent reports spoke about him suffering from a coughing fit during the evening hours. Seeing his condition worsen has left the world sad again, as calls for more prayers were made for his recovery.
The Vatican shared how this arose due to a serious amount of mucus accumulating inside his lungs as well as bronchial spasms.
Due to the Pope inhaling a lot of the mucus, he was still said to remain in an alert condition. This includes his medical status being described as oriented and cooperating with the medical staff.
Two bronchoscopies were therefore carried out with the need to remove large secretions.
