Prince Harry supported his wife Meghan as much as she supported him during the funeral of the beloved Queen Elizabeth.
Funeral guest Pranav Bhanot shared with PEOPLE some of the moments he saw the couple during the state funeral in Westminster Abbey.
“You saw the reassurance that Harry was giving to Meghan at times when they were walking together and had to go in their different directions,” he said.
“I just noticed how supportive Harry was to Meghan,” the attorney continued.
“When they went their separate directions after the ceremony, he gave her a firm squeeze of the hand. I felt he wanted to ensure she felt comfortable.”
The Sussexes sat net to the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, at the committal ceremony for the Queen.
The emotional service was held in St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, where Harry and Meghan tied the knot in May 2018.
Harry, Meghan, Kate, William, George and Charlotte sat in the front row of pews on one side of the late monarch’s coffin.
After the procession, the Prince and Princess of Wales stood to the side to let the Duke and Duchess of Sussex into the pew first.
Harry and Meghan were already in Europe for a tour when the Queen died ‘peacefully’ at Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96. They extended their stay in the UK to attend Her Majesty’s funeral.
The late monarch was buried at St. George’s Chapel.
Her parents, King George VI, who passed away in 1952, and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, who passed away in 2002, as well as her sister Princess Margaret, who died that same year, are all buried in the King George VI Memorial Chapel.
