The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been told to apologize for their Oprah interview after it left the Prince and Princess of Wales angered and upset, insiders have claimed.
According to sources, the bombshell interview ‘crossed the line’ and caused a rift that required healing.
Prince Harry and Meghan have been instructed to apologize for their comments and ‘acknowledge the motives behind it’ before the Queen’s state funeral.
The ‘Fab Four’ have already appeared together in public after Prince William asked his younger brother if he and Meghan would like to join him and Princess Kate in meeting mourners and inspecting floral tributes outside the Windsor Castle.
Speaking to the Telegraph, a source said: “They feel they’ve had to be steely to send a message that you cannot just say this hugely upsetting stuff without there being consequences.”
During the Oprah interview, the Sussexes spoke about their decision to quit as working royals.
They also claimed that there had been ‘concerns’ about the color of their son’s skin, adding that Prince Charles, the new monarch, had stopped taking the Duke of Sussex’s phone calls.
The Duchess also said she was feeling depressed but was not allowed to get help.
They also revealed that they secretly tied the knot before their royal wedding as they announced that they were expecting their daughter, Lilibet.
The rift has caused tensions among Royals, with the Sussexes reportedly being uninvited to a state reception held by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace.
According to reports, Harry and Meghan received an invitation for the grand event which would see political figures and foreign aides meet on the eve of Her Majesty’s funeral.
But Buckingham Palace officials said the couple missed out as it was only for working royals.
