Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted waving Stars and Stripes while watching a Fourth of July procession in Wyoming.
Known for wanting to live a private life, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are rarely spotted in public especially together with their children Archie and Lilibet.
The Fourth of July, however, appeared to be an exception, whereas the formerly-royal couple decided to attend the Independence Day parade in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, together with their three-year-old son.
In photos obtained by DailyMail.com, the couple can be seen sitting on the sidewalk and watching on as cowboys, rodeo girls, floats, and vehicles draped in American flags pass by.
In one instance, little Archie could be seen eating a red lollipop while his parents were showing him around. In another, the three-year-old proudly waved his tiny flag.
Blending in with the crowd, Meghan and Harry dressed casually for the occasion.
While the Duchess wore dark jeans, a white tank top, and a floppy hat to protect herself from the sun, Harry looked like a typical American dad in his shorts, sneakers, polo shirt, and baseball hat.
It is not clear if Lilibet came with her California-based parents on their trip to Wyoming.
Though Meghan and Harry did their best to avoid drawing any attention to themselves, they were eventually recognized in the popular ski town where various celebrities own expensive properties.
“We were standing nearby and this big guy told us he was saving the seats for a family. I said, Ok, that’s fine. And a little bit later he said it again. I asked him if he wanted us to move but he said no, no. It was all a bit strange,” 58-year-old Susan Mills Echols, who attended the parade together with her sister Deborah Mills Wall, recalled.
“In my mind I was thinking, what is this, is he expecting the Royal family or something? I turned around a minute later and I saw Meghan Markle and little Archie. And then behind her came Harry.”
The elementary school teacher added: “I’m not a huge Royal follower so I Googled them really quickly just to make sure that I was right. I sent a text to my daughter and she wouldn’t believe me.
“She wanted a picture to prove it was them. It was completely out of the blue and really neat.”
Susan went on to reveal that the couple chose to sit on the sidewalk rather than on the chairs provided at the side of the road so that they could pay more attention to Archie.
