Actress Anne Hathaway is opening up for the first time about her postpartum journey.

The leading celeb says that having two sons is the biggest joy of her life but the world we live in expects women to recover from the postpartum phase immediately and that’s not alright.

Speaking with People magazine for an exclusive interview, the star mentioned how her two sons, Jack and Jonathan have really made time for her to appreciate her body.

She added how most people don’t talk about things like this and it’s a little sad. But whatever the case may be, she is super happy and proud of the way she has gone about the situation. Adding how it takes a good three years to recover, the star shunned all those individuals who continuously shame others and expect them to snap back to being their old self, after the delivery.

“I was never able to snap back. And I just want you all to know that”- she continued. Hathaway also spoke to PEOPLE about how it took several years to come back to normal and regain the same confidence that she once had, before having kids.

“I took every minute of those three years to get back to my normal self. And that’s cool. Let your body be a body”- she mentioned.

The celeb added how there is nowhere to get to. And you’re living in the moment right now. Hence, to be present and to take care of yourself and not put out any expectations is the way to go, she added.

Similarly, being a mother of two means getting super picky in terms of choosing which projects are worth her time and energy and which are not. Hence for her, having kids is one of the biggest shifts of her life and she cherishes that so much.

In the end, the Oscar-winning actress mentioned how her children are her biggest and most valuable asset, by a long shot. And there is nothing in the world that could ever change that.
