Gwyneth Paltrow was pictured approaching Terry Sanderson and whispering into his ear upon leaving the courtroom after a verdict.
On Thursday, Paltrow was found not liable in the 2016 Utah ski resort crash after 76-year-old optometrist Terry Sanderson accused the actress of crashing into him and knocking him onto the ground.
Throughout the trial, the Hollywood star maintained her innocence and insisted the elderly man plowed into her and not the other way around.
After just two hours and twenty minutes of deliberation, the jury reached a verdict in Paltrow’s favor and ruled that Sanderson wouldn’t be getting a cent of the $300,000 he was seeking.
Before leaving the courtroom, Paltrow was seen approaching Sanderson and tapping him on the shoulder while whispering something in his ear.
We can now reveal that the actress whispered “I wish you all the best.”
Responding, Sanderson put on a small smile and said: “Thank you dear.”
After the verdict, Paltrow released a statement saying she felt the need to fight the allegations in court because her integrity was at stake.
“I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity. I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case,” she said in a statement.
Speaking to the reporters outside the court, her attorney, Stephen Owens, added: “We’re pleased with the outcome and appreciate the judge and jury’s consideration. Gwyneth has a history of standing up for what’s right and this situation is no different. She will continue to stand up for what’s right.”
Meanwhile, Sanderson maintained his innocence while his attorney suggested that he was a “good man” who was suffering because of the circumstances.
