2 Children Killed and Dozens Injured as Gunman trapped praying students, staff inside church by barricading doors


At least two children have been killed, and dozens more people were injured after an active gunman opened fire on them at a school in Minneapolis.

According to reports from local media outlets, the gunman trapped praying students and staff inside the church as they were busy engaging in their usual morning prayer routine.

The victims who were killed in the incident were said to be only 8 and 10 years old in age. They were shot dead in packed pews during a morning mass at the Catholic School in Minneapolis.

First responders and law enforcement swarmed the area surrounding the Annunciation Catholic School at about 8:30 am local time, right after reports of heavy gunfire broke out.

A male gunman was later found dead, as shared by law enforcement agencies who spoke to The Post.

Police shared how there were up to 20 victims, including two kids who had died in the aftermath of the tragedy. Two other kids are said to be in critical condition, as shared in the latest press briefing at 11 am today.

The gunman made sure the staff and students were trapped inside with barricaded doors before he opened fire and started to shoot randomly at them. Invesigations are taking place to determine the motive and identity of the gunman involved in the tragedy.
