President Trump is gearing up to announce that he’s renaming another body of water during his whirlwind trip next week to the Middle East.
Trump is expected to make a major announcement about how the US will now refer to the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf.
This body of water is located between Iran and all three Arabian nations that Trump would visit, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar.
It would be a four-day trip to the region after he departs from the White House on Monday. Now, the term Persian Gulf has been around since the 16th century, and in modern times, in the Middle East, many have begun referring to it as the Arabian Gulf.
They have done this to show their superiority over Iran, which did not go down too well. It has left Iran very upset and irritated. The government threatened to sue Google in 2012 over the firm’s decision not to name the body of water on all of its maps.
Ahead of the Middle East Trip, Trump touted how a major announcement was coming, and Iran is not happy.
