An 81-year-old grandfather who left his family frantic after he went missing for a week while tending his garden was finally found enjoying a beer in a pub.
Ronald Webster vanished while working on his garden, leaving his family worried as he left without his phone and medication.
His family then reported him missing but after not being heard from for a week, the grandfather was finally found enjoying a pint of beer in a pub like nothing was going on.
Paige Tattersall, Ronald’s granddaughter, told Manchester Evening News that her family was ‘broken’ when he vanished.
They were all worried about what happened to him, including his wife who was left heartbroken.
After a national search, their prayers were finally answered as Ronald was found in a pub 40 minutes away from home.
Posting on Facebook, Paige wrote: “They have found him!!!! Will update properly soon but he’s coming home!
“He was in b***dy Wetherspoons in Manchester drinking a pint [before] coming home. He got the train from Huddersfield to Scarborough to Bridlington like we thought.”
Paige also joked: “He’s absolutely fine he was just scared of going back to my gran I think! He knows he’s in trouble!!
“We are absolutely elated. To get that phone call that they have found him safe and well will never ever be compared. And then to be able to reunited him grandma. We can all sleep tonight knowing he’s home safe where he belongs.”
Greater Manchester Police also took to Twitter and said: “We are pleased to be able to share with you that we have found missing Ronnie safe and well, following a phenomenal effort from members of the public and police officers. He has been reunited with his family.”
