Witnesses to a mass shooting in the US state of Minneapolis were seen describing the terrifying scenes after one attacker opened fire on a church in which kids were celebrating Mass on Wednesday.
One of the young witnesses to come forward and share his account of the terror has left viewers stunned and saddened at the trauma he must have endured at such a young age.
One young boy described it as being protected by a friend who got hit himself. Two kids were killed and 17 more were injured in the incident that the FBI is currently treating as a matter of anti-Catholic hate crime.
The attacker, named Robin Westma, was said to be a transgender female who died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities are yet to determine or share what the real motive of the shooter may have been.
The young survivor, who is only 10 and named Weston Halsne, shared more about how his friend saved him from bullets by lying on top of him.
“I was like two seats away from the stained glass window,” he mentioned. He then spoke highly about his friend Victor, who saved him by lying on top of him, but he ended up getting hit in the end. “My friend got hit in the back, and he went to the hospital. I was super scared for him, but I think he is now okay’- the young survivor mentioned.
