An 8-year-old girl from Victoria received one of the Queen’s final letters before she passed away at the age of 96.

Olivia Akers from Tallygaroopna received a letter from the Palace on the same day it was announced that Her Majesty had died.

The mastermind behind Olivia’s adorable costume was her mother Natalie, who initially planned for her daughter to debut the attire at a local horse show until she saw a fancy dress competition online.

Olivia’s costume did not win the online competition but Ms. Akers decided to send her daughter’s cute photos to the Queen and included a handwritten letter from the girl.

“Dear Queen Elizabeth, my name is Olivia Akers, I am eight years old and live in Tallygaroopna in Australia,” Olivia wrote.

“I really liked your video with Paddington Bear. Do you really eat marmalade sandwiches? I have included some photos from an online horse fancy dress competition that was for your Platinum Jubilee.”

She continued: “I hope you like my photos? My side saddle came from England. My pony’s name is Lady and she is an Australian pony.

“How many horses do you have? I hope you had a lovely Jubilee. Love Olivia.”

Olivia posted the letter in June and waited patiently before she got a reply from Balmoral Castle.

She received the letter on the same day it was announced that the Queen had passed away.

Signed by Lady-In-Waiting Annabelle Whitehead, the letter thanked Olivia for her thoughtfulness in writing to the Queen.

“The Queen was interested to see the photographs you enclosed in which you and your splendid Pony, Lady, are depicted in the costume you chose for the celebratory competition you entered,” the letter read.

“Her Majesty was touched to know that you too enjoy horse riding, and I am to thank you again for your thoughtfulness in writing to the Queen as you did at this time.”
