A woman is describing her absolute terror and fear at the Gatwick airport recently where she was reportedly stuck for nearly 90 minutes.
The passenger named Victoria Brignell who is 45 says she suffers from paralysis from her neck downwards. And for that reason, she can’t move on her own and has to rely on someone pushing her wheelchair.
But she was horrified to learn that no staff member had shown up after she returned back home after a holiday in Malta this past Saturday. And that meant she was forced to remain in a stranded state for hours.
She says that she was grateful that the wheelchair was made ready for her but the fact that there was no one there to push it really says so much about their carelessness.
Now, her story is going viral on social media because making a paralyzed woman wait for so long at an airport is beyond outrageous for many citizens to hear.
“It could have been any one of us. This the limit of carelessness especially because they knew that there was a passenger like that aboard the plane”- mentioned one fellow passenger.
Meanwhile, since the woman couldn’t get off of the plane, it meant that passengers belonging to the next flight also had their own forms of delay, causing haywire in schedules at the airport.
The blame is being pointed at contractors hailing from the Gatwick airport who just never bothered showing up or following up on the incident, leaving her and many others so furious.
As it is, airport staff that is present have an undue responsibility to help passengers like her come off of the plane but in this case, there was no one regard.
The woman also added how she was shocked at the fact that the staff of British Airlines had informed her that someone was coming but for 90 minutes, no one showed up, leaving her in a helpless state.
