Several people were shot dead at the Army Base in Georgia today, and officials have urgently imposed a lockdown in the surrounding area.
Law Enforcement has confirmed that an active gunman opened fire at Fort Stewart base on Wednesday morning at about 11 am, and several casualties were reported.
Footage from the incident is now shared on social media that shows several soldiers seeking shelter as the active shooter warning was released.
The shooter struck the 2ABCT area of Fort Stewart, which entails the Wright and Evans Army Airfield. Officials at the local schools followed the army base in the lockdown area, but said that there is no immediate threat to the schools at this moment in time.
