JUST IN: “The Bill” Actor George Rossi Passes Away Aged 60


Actor George Rossi has suddenly passed away at the age of 60.

According to local media reports, the star played the leading role in ‘The Bill’ where his character’s name was DC Duncan Lennox for nearly 20 long years. His sudden passing away was announced via a public statement via his niece who broke the tragic news on social media recently.

The statement revealed, “Unfortunately George Rossi who starred as DC Duncan Lennox in the leading ITV drama series has passed away on the morning of January 5th, 2022,” she added via her Twitter account recently.

“That is my uncle,” the message explained. “He was still acting until recently,” it revealed.

The wonderful actor leaves behind his wife named Catrine who he got married to in the year 1988, and two beautiful children named Santino and Matilda.

The star was originally born in Glasgow and he made his first appearance as an actor in The Bill in the year 1993. Moreover, he went on to appear in nearly 200 episodes after that, over a span of 20 years.

The star’s first character appeared in the 1993 episode, right before he returned as a regular on the series in the year 1998. But in the year 2003, Rossi opted to exit the show for good.

But that’s not the only performance Rossi was renowned for. He also went about appearing in a number of other programs on television that included Taggart and the first two series of Whitechapel, where he portrayed the role of a detective.

Tributes began pouring in for the star by so many that referred to him as a warm and loving colleague. Moreover, fans have also expressed their condolences on social media at the star’s sudden and unexpected demise.
