Prince George and Princess Charlotte are going to the Queen’s funeral after their parents Prince William and Princess Kate agreed.
The two great-grandchildren will walk behind the late monarch’s coffin during the state funeral before saying their final farewell to their “Gan Gan.”
George, 9, and Charlotte, 7, will join the congregation at Westminster Abbey for the service and will also attend the Committal Service at Windsor Castle.
Before the decision was made, William and Kate thought about taking their children to the ceremony and discussed it with them first.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have decided to keep Prince Louis, 4, at their home.
According to previous reports by the Mirror, Her Majesty planned for her three heirs to appear with heron the Buckingham Palace balcony on the last day of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
One source said: “The Queen was utterly determined that the future of the monarchy should be on show for all to see.”
George and Charlotte will walk through the church in London with other members of the Royal Family behind the Queen’s coffin.
They will walk behind their parents, walking side by side, followed by Prince Harry and Meghan, and other royals.
King Charles and the Queen Consort will be directly behind the coffin, followed by the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, then the Duke of York, Earl and Countess of Wessex, and then the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Sources revealed that the Queen was keen on “showing Britain’s rich tapestry of faiths and cultures” at her funeral, inviting representatives from different denominations and cultures to represent Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim and Hindu communities among others.
