The remains of Diogo Jota and his brother were greeted by heartbroken supporters and applause after their coffins arrived at the church in Portugal, right before their funeral.
Mourners were seen gathered during the early hours of the morning to pay respects at a wake in Gondomar after the star and his brother passed away in a fiery crash during the early hours of Thursday.
Dozens were seen standing right near the church last night, and tears rolled down their faces as the hearses transporting the victims’ bodies arrived after 11 pm.
Sources have confirmed that Jose Manuel Macedo, who is the local parish priest, confirmed that the wake would arise at 8 am at the nearby center before their funeral at the Catholic Church next door on Saturday morning.
Speaking to local media outlets, the priest mentioned how they were available to celebrate their life with everyone and to share their pain and the Christian hope.
Sources shared how the star’s Lamborghini Huracan’s tyre reportedly burst out while trying to overtake another car on the A-52 at the Cernadilla near Zamora, which is just 10 miles over the border from Portugal. This caused the supercar to come off the road, roll over, and burst into flames.
