President Trump congratulated the US Central Command Forces on Monday for carrying out a successful weekend airstrike in Syria.
The incident resulted in the death of a senior terrorist leader.
American forces are believed to have carried out a precision airstrike against a senior member of Al-Qaeda in Syria during the weekend, the President stated on his social media account Truth Social.
The terrorist leader was said to be working with Al-Qaeda across the region.
The President added that he would like to express special thanks to CENTCOM Commander Gen. Michael Kurilla and other American warfighters who dealt with Justice to another leading threatening US and their allies and partners, the message went on to read.
This airstrike is said to be a part of the CENTCOM’s ongoing commitment with other partners in the region to disrupt and degrade efforts by terrorists to plan, organize, and carry out attacks against civilians and other military individuals in the region.
American forces will reportedly continue to carry out attacks against any terrorists to defend the homeland, Trump confirmed.
This operation marks the fifth airstrike carried out by CENTCOM against ISIS and Hurras al-Din since the president took charge.
