Five Russian conscripts were reportedly captured by Ukrainian forces on Monday as they blasted their own leader for tricking them into entering the war.
“We were deceived. We were told that it was a military operation. There were no details about the invasion”- the conscripts mentioned.
In the same way, they revealed how they thought they would be beaten and humiliated for attacking Ukraine like Fascists but the way they’re now being treated isn’t something that they were expecting.
“Thank you for everything. The food, the water, for treating us like this”- the captives revealed.
The captives revealed how they had been called to military service in June of 2021 but little did they know about what the plan was ahead of them.
While some mentioned a special military training exercise, others revealed that it was nothing like the sort of attacks and strikes that are now being aimed at Ukraine’s way.
Russian forces seem to be running out of food and water and that’s why many prisoners of war believe that the war could soon be over in the next 14 days.
“Our equipment keeps breaking down in a few days. It’s greatly slowing down the Russian advance and we’re now left with only six tanks out of the huge 30 that we first began with”- explained another.
The soldiers stated the facts during a recent press briefing where they called out Putin for lying into thinking that they were practicing for drills in the fields of Russian territory and were even given rations that had been expired for so many years.
“Our initial task was just to set up a checkpoint and inspect all of the vehicles that were passing through. But it was much more than that”- the conscripts further stated.
