Severe floods and thunderstorms were seen rocking the popular tourist hotspot of Spain as many took to the fantasy destination to bask in the sun, amid a massive heatwave.
However, things did not go as planned for many people who were left with no choice but to witness horrifying weather conditions in the form of torrential rains and thunderstorms.
Half of Spain’s 5o provinces were said to have gathered weather warnings from the State Meteorological Agency this week.
Dramatic footage was shared through social media overnight that showed the stellar streets, which transformed into filthy rivers as flood water streamed past shots and cafes.
In another shocking video shared online, cars were seen getting swept away alongside the El Cardener river, while so many more vehicles were completely submerged in the thick mud as well as debris.
It comes amid massive concerns of a heatwave, fueled by a heat dome phenomenon, and is currently affecting all of the EU, with temperatures in some places reaching a massive 42 degrees centigrade.
The United Kingdom is facing some intense bouts of sunshine this weekend, with temperatures hitting 33 in some parts of the country.
