The head of the FBI has recently disclosed how the suspect involved in the assassination of Charlie Kirk ended up writing a pre-attack note stating that he had the chance to kill Kirk and intended to do so.
This is a development that places the suspect’s own words at the center of the fast-paced investigation. As per Kash Patel, the head of the FBI, the suspect 22 year 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, authored the letter himself before the shooting that declared he had the chance to take out Charlie Kirk and that he was going to take it.
Patel then mentioned how the note was later destroyed, but that his agents were able to retrieve forensic evidence of its existence and ended up confirming that its contents were indeed true through interviews.
They described this as the material, which was a part of a growing body of evidence indicating premeditation. Patel explained how Robinson also rolled out a text message before this attack and signaled his intentions but he did not identify the recipient in that.
Patel’s account of this note was delivered in a broadcast interview, and this echoed in subsequent reports that explained how federal and local authorities were busy trying to piece all of this together and the actions of the shooter.
