Little boy airlifted to hospital after ‘falling out of fairground ride’ at pumpkin patch in front of horrified families


A young child sustained a head injury after reportedly falling down from the fairground ride at the Spilman’s Farm.

The incident arose at the well known pumpkin patch attraction that’s located in Thirsk, North Yorkshire on Friday evening. This prompted an urgent response from both the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The boy was air lifted to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment. Thankfully, he was discharged that same evening and reported as recovering.

In regards to this incident, Spilman’s Farm mentioned how the ride involved was closed and removed from that same location while the matter is reviewed.point 134 | The farm’s management shared more concerns related to this, thanked staff and emergency responders, and even emphasized that they are in contact with the child’s family while respecting their privacy.point 317 |

The farm which advertised more than 175,000 pumpkins to be picked during the season still remains open right now, the source added.
