The daughter of a former mayor from Kansas has passed away after falling from a cliffside in Colorado.
Authorities received a report that a female climber ended up falling in the area of AVA Rafting and Zipline on Highway 103 in Idaho Springs shortly after 3 pm local time on Saturday, as per the police department.
The climber, who was identified as 26-year-old Olivia Copeland of Ft Collins, sustained serious injuries from this fall, according to the cops.
Several agencies went on to report and respond to the scene, including a Flight for Life helicopter, but Copeland didn’t end up surviving. Copeland was an employee of AVA Rafting and Zipline, the cops shared. She was also the daughter of the former mayor of Olathe, Kan., Michael Copeland, who passed away in August of 2020 at the age of 58, as per a Fox affiliate.
