Actor Brad Pitt is opening up about his struggling facial blindness condition for the first time, adding how no one in the world believes him.
According to local media reports, the actor revealed how he suffers from prosopagnosia which is the medical term reserved for face blindness.
The Hollywood legend was recently seen speaking during a very candid interview about how he struggles with the condition on a daily basis but very few people know about it and believe him when he tells them.
Reports from the NHS have revealed how the face blindness condition stops people from recognizing a number of faces and it is known to be an ailment that comes at birth and doesn’t leave the person for the rest of their life.
The NHS has also gone as far as mentioning how the ailment can drastically affect a person’s everyday life as some can’t even recognize their own family members, partners, or even their friends.
Therefore, such patients are, in the end, forced to develop new strategies that would assist them in recognizing the most important people n their lives.
For instance, this could be by a certain facial attribute, hairstyle, or perhaps any other personality trait. But such tactics may or may not work, leaving the person in a very bizarre and confusing situation.
Brad Pit was speaking to GQ recently when he made the revelation about the illness and how it has affected his confidence and how awkward it can be for him in particular social situations.
“I struggle all the time when I meet new people. I can’t even recognize their faces and that has led to so many people incorrectly assuming that I am an aloof, self-absorbed, and inaccessible individual”- the celeb continued.
There are days when the star says he feels low and ashamed but it’s surprising to note that he has never been officially diagnosed with the condition, he has more than certain that he has it.
