Comedian Pete Davidson faces massive backlash after making some brutal comments regarding his appearance at music legend Aretha Franklin’s funeral.
According to reports from local media outlets, the comedian confirmed how he was high on ketamine at the event, causing him to almost tell other mourners how he was here just to pay his ‘R-E-S-P-E-C-T-S’ related to the tragic incident.
While the audience may have laughed at first during his on-stage comedy gig, the backlash that the star is now facing thanks to the joke has left him red in the face.
Most fans and followers did not like his sense of humor and added how it’s baffling that anyone would ever find this kind of behavior alright.
“She’s dead Pete, at least have some respect for her now”- another added. And just like that, the comments continued to follow in this direction.
While the incident dates back to when he was dating vocal powerhouse Ariana Grande, the fact that he found it okay to make the joke right now says a lot, critics added.
Others were quick to add how ketamine is no joke and some people are forced to go through therapy using the drug, which is never fun.
Let’s not forget how actor Matthew Perry was said to have passed away from an overdose of the drug too.
“Yes I am deeply embarrassed to admit this but that’s the truth.
That is how I was out and about and it’s not cool”- the leading stand-up comedian mentioned while being under the drug’s influence.
The latter is said to treat depression which he again admitted to be an issue he was facing during that moment in time.Meanwhile, the leading Saturday Night Alum mentioned how the substance did get the best of him, verbally.
He had suffered plenty of foot-in-the-mouth incidents as a result of that which he’s not proud of one bit.
“I send out respect to all of her relatives if they did notice something strange or peculiar about me”- he concluded.
