The Duke of Sussex is reunited with his wife Meghan Markle after he rushed to Balmoral to see his grandmother, the Queen.
Reports claim that the couple will extend their stay in Britain until the state funeral. Harry had grief written on his face after losing a race against time to see the Queen before she passed away.
King Charles III returned to Buckingham Palace to meet fellow mourners. He accepted their condolences and observed flowers left for the Queen at the gates before entering the palace.
Harry was the last royal to arrive at Balmoral to see the Queen. Grief was etched on his face after he landed in Scotland 15 minutes after Her Majesty’s death was announced.
With his face partially covered by his hand, he was driven out of Aberdeen airport as he faced a lonely drive to the castle, arriving at 7:52 pm where he joined other members of the Royal Family.
He left 12 hours later to be reunited with Meghan in Windsor.
Harry wore a black suit as he carried a shoulder bag while walking toward the plane’s steps.
An airport worker offered her condolences as the duke was about to walk up the steps of the aircraft. The royal patted her gently on the shoulder before boarding the plane for Heathrow Airport.
The Sussexes were not expected to see any royals despite living yards from William and Kate during their pseudo-royal tour until the heartbreaking death of the Queen.
Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have stayed behind in the US.
The world now mourns the death of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch as her son Charles accedes to the throne.
