Elon Musk’s son has filed documents to legally change his name and surname along with his gender.
Xavier Alexander Musk, 18, seemingly disowned his father in papers asking for his name and surname to be changed from Xavier Musk to Vivian Jenna Wilson.
The transgender teen also claimed she no longer lives with or wishes to be associated with her biological father.
“I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” she said in papers requesting the name and gender change.
Distancing herself from her billionaire father, the teen expressed the desire to take the surname of her mother, Justine Wilson, instead.
The Canadian author was married to the richest man in the world from 2000 to 2008. The pair had six children including twins Griffin and Xavier and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian who are currently 16 years old.
Justine and Elon’s first baby, Nevada, died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in 2002.
The children that followed kept a low profile throughout their upbringing despite their father’s wealth and fame and the fact that he had joint custody.
It remains unclear what Vivian’s reasons for ditching her father’s name and distancing herself from the Musk family are.
The court filing, however, comes shortly after Elon Musk came under fire on social media over his allegedly transphobic comments and posts.
Among other controversial statements, Musk suggested he supports Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who introduced the “Don’t Say Gay” bill to block gender identity from being discussed in schools for young children.
Despite the backlash, however, the billionaire insists that he is pro-LGBTQ rights and that his company, Tesla, is as inclusive as it gets.
