Actor Elliot Page is shedding light on how he got shingles while shooting on the sets of his film called Inception.
The 36-year-old famous actor says that the incident arose due to him being under too much stress thanks to all the situations taking place in his surrounding.
The star came out as a transgender in December of 2020 and since then, he has opted to write his own memoir on the matter. And that’s where he certainly did not hold back on his woes and worries about being transgender.
In fact, he feels that the pressure on his shoulder has been lifted after this particular memoir where he is allowed to speak openly about his journey which he’s never been able to do in the past.
Page says shingles happen to be another term reserved for a viral infection that entails a very painful rash. And while he happened to be shooting for the film, he was under a great deal of pressure due to work and his own personal stress.
Doctors say stress had a lot to do with the illness and that’s why he feels that he probably ended up with it for this reason.
“I happened to be surrounded by a cast full of men across the board. These were cis men. It was going to be hard for me, and I worried a little too much about that”- the star went on to explain.
Shingles started to pop out of his spine and he was having trouble in general. He says that although his colleagues happened to be an absolute delight to work with, he struggled big time.
It’s actually quite interesting because he reportedly shot for the film a decade before he came out in the open about his trans status. But the build-up of pressure before this moment time was just too much for someone like him to bear.
