Dylan Mulvaney has once again managed to raise eyebrows across the world as she was named the Woman of the Year.

The 26-year-old transgender influencer and TikTok personality, who detailed her transition from man to woman on social media, recently came under fire after partnering with Bud Light for a beer campaign.

Brushing the criticism away, Mulvaney has since remained vocal about trans awareness and her efforts now helped her secure the title of the woman of the year.

Accepting the Attitude magazine’s award sponsored by Virgin Atlantic in London, the young influencer said the award meant a lot to her because it was from a queer publication.

“Some see me as the woman of the year, some see me as the woman of a year and some change as I only publicly came out online 560 days ago – and some people don’t see me as a woman at all,” Dylan said in her acceptance speech.

While trans advocates couldn’t be more thrilled about the news, critics slammed the magazine and the awards event for “gaslighting women everywhere.”

It is hard to imagine something more misogynist than to pronounce that no woman has achieved anything more significant this year through their work than a man putting on a dress and having cosmetic surgery,” women’s advocate and feminist campaigner Maya Forstater said.point 231 | 1

More prominent figures have since joined in on the backlash.

“There are nearly 4B women in the world, and of course, Dylan Mulvaney wins ‘Woman of the Year,’” TV personality Charly Arnolt said.

“Another ludicrous slap in the face to actual women,” Piers Morgan added.
