Mayor Eric Adams Officially DROPS OUT of New York City Mayoral Race Amid Increasing Pressure


Mayor Eric Adams has officially dropped out of the race to be New York City’s next mayor.

The news comes amid increasing pressure to clear the crowded field in a last-ditch attempt to prevent socialist Zohran Mamdani’s election to City Hall.

The bombshell move came after weeks of back and forth over whether Adams would bow out of this race in which he’s polling fourth, far behind frontrunner Mamadani, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo. and also Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa.

‘It’s been a huge honor to be your major’- Adams mentioned in the video announcement, as per a transcript shared with The Post, touting his victories during his first term.

He spoke about bringing down the crime rate, designing homes, and dealing with the city’s brutal migrant crisis. But he also said that with a heavy heart, he cannot continue his campaigns and his successes and will be stepping down.

“I strongly encourage whoever takes over the city to continue all that we’ve done,” he added. But he failed to encourage other candidates or show support for any, and instead took some brutal swipes against them. Instead, he issued a warning that the local government shouldn’t be used to launder radical ideals.
