Naomi Campbell was seen opening up for the first time about her battle linked to drug and alcohol addiction that arose during the start of her modeling career.
The leading fashion model and top icon of the industry explained how she used to really abuse substances so she could better cope with the pain and grief that were linked to her childhood.
This included how she was abandoned by her own loved ones. Other issues that left a devastating impact on her life had to do with the startling death related to her close pal and famous fashion designer Gianni Versace.
The news was unveiled in the latest Apple TV+ docuseries, where the runway legend opened up about her game-changing career path, along with other leading names in the world of modeling like Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and even Christy Turlington.
But the shocking point came when Naomi added that grief was a very strange thing for her and she was slowly but surely killing herself during the early part of her career. This was all thanks to the growing number of drugs she took during the early start of the 90s.
Naomi said that the pain was too much and it was the aura of being sucked into this grief that she hated. For her, the death of her friend really impacted her as he always had a positive influence on her life.
And to not have that anymore made her quite upset, sources have added. Moreover, Naomi mentioned how the leading name from the fashion world’s death left the biggest wound in her heart and no matter what she did, that wound just couldn’t fill up.
There was even one point in her career where the star ended up collapsing during a photo shoot and that was five years after her addiction to cocaine.
