Walt Disney Animation’s emotional short movie, Versa, screened at the Animation Film Festival last weekend is sparking serious backlash online.
Images of the short film have since gone viral on the X platform, with thousands of users sharing their thoughts on this project. One of the pictures depicted a man and a woman holding hands in a rosy pink sky with a star illuminating the woman’s pregnant belly and two additional stars glowing near their hearts.
The screening sparked emotional reactions and many demanded that this be removed as they were tired of such age inappropriate genres arising and playing with young minds.
On social media, many commenters flipped the usual script, using this movie to mock or criticize homophobic individuals who oppose LGBTQ representation in kids’ movies.
“My three year old granddaughter looked at me with her innocent eyes and said is this normal for a woman to love a man”- the viewer added. She also called the scenes disgusting while another deemed it repulsive hetero propaganda. “A child should not be forced upon such views at such a young age”- another declared.
