US President Donald Trump has shared that Sean Diddy Combs has approached him for a presidential pardon following the rapper’s sentencing at a court in New York this month.
Puff Daddy did ask me for a pardon, Trump confirmed while seated in the Oval Office and speaking to the press during a media briefing. The news comes after one journalist asked him his thoughts regarding the sentencing.
When questioned earlier this month about this prospect of pardoning Combs, Trump remarked, probably… hmmm. ‘You know I was very friendly with him, I get along with him great. Seemed like a nice guy. I did not know him well but when I ran for office, he was very hostile towards me’- he continued.
The embattled music producer was cleared of the more severe charges linked to racketeering and trafficking in July, but he was convicted on two counts of transporting former lovers for the sake of pr*stitution.
This guilty verdict was reached after 13 hours of jury deliberations. As the decision was shared, Diddy was seen dropping to his knees before his chair in prayer, reported by The Mirror.
The music mogul was then seen facing the public gallery and applauding in front of his kids and relatives, who were there in attendance to show their love and support for the star.
