Dick Van Dyke was pictured handing out cash to homeless people and job seekers in Malibu.
The 96-year-old actor, who appeared in the 1964 Disney classic Mary Poppins, was spotted outside his favorite not-for-profit organization in Malibu, California, last Thursday morning.
While visiting the Malibu Community Labor Exchange, an organization that helps connect employers with prospective job seekers, the legendary movie star pulled out his five-dollar bills and handed them out to several individuals looking for work.
Dick also opened up about his generous habit and revealed that he comes by the labor exchange headquarters every time he piles up enough five-dollar bills.
“Whenever I have some fives I come by. You can’t do it all the time, though!” the former entertainer and comedian told DailyMail.
Before Van Dyke had the chance to wave the workers goodbye and walk away, one of the job seekers chimed in saying: “Just call him angel from God.”
Following his visit to the nonprofit center, Van Dyke, who was wearing a white shirt and grey pants, ran errands at a local pharmacy. He also paid a visit to his bank.
Dick was previously spotted in public ahead of Father’s Day back in June when he told the reporters that he was “just glad to still be here.”
At the time, the retired actor strolled around in a grey shirt and navy blue pants while visiting a store where he bought a can of self-tanning spray.
The public appearances come months after Dick and wife Arlene Silver, 50, shared a sweet Valentine’s Day video in which they were seen dancing and embracing each other.
Speaking of his love for music and dancing, the actor admitted it was what keeps him going and what serves as his “retirement amusement.”
