In today’s day and age, eating out has started to spark a new kind of debate and it would not be wrong to mention how some people are really struggling to make ends meet in this economic downturn.
This brings us to our story for today where one waiter is having a hard time accepting the fact that customers are eating out but are refusing to tip servers. And that has made him and his colleagues really upset.
According to him, if you have the money to spend on eating out at full-service restaurants then you should have the funds to give a little to your servers. And that’s because everyone in this world is trying to make ends meet.
Speaking on the controversial matter through Reddit, the individual claims that servers don’t get paid a handsome salary. Therefore, they do end up earning quite a bit from collecting tips.
Some countries are more inclined toward accepting the tipping culture while others are not so much. But when it comes to the US, tips are more than welcome, and in fact, they’re being called out as necessary so servers can earn more money to cope with stressful times.
The server says that if you cannot find the means to give out a tip or don’t have enough cash in reserve for a tip, then you certainly do not deserve the right to be eating out in public.
The video has the server looking at people, dead in the face, confirming how eating out is a privilege and not a right for anyone. And if 20% of the bill cannot be allocated for tipping purposes, it’s best such people stay at home and eat in then dine outside.
