Kate Moss is getting ready to testify in ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp’s $100 million defamation trial against Amber Heard after the Aquaman star mentioned the name of the supermodel during her testimony.
The 48-year-old will take the stand in support of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star and is expected to clear the allegations that Depp once pushed her down the stairs.
Her testimony could ruin Heard’s case as it will only give Depp’s legal team an opportunity to crush the rumors about their relationship.
Depp and Moss dated in the 1990s and the supermodel has always spoken highly of the ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ actor. They became one of the household names before they split in 1997.
In 1994, a year after Depp’s split from Winona Ryder, they met in Tabac – a popular café in New York City. Depp was 31 at that time and Moss was 20.
The former couple were often seen showing their affection to each other on romantic trips and they attended events side by side.
Vanity Fair writer George Wayne revealed that he was the one who set Depp and Moss up.
“Johnny was in the back having dinner and Kate walked in with Naomi (Campbell) and (I) grabbed her and made the introduction!” he wrote on Instagram in 2019.
“I had no idea that they would then become the IT couple for seasons to come, destroying hotel rooms across the globe during their still unforgettable union.”
Moss also said that she felt an instant connection to Depp. She once said, as per People: “I knew from the first moment we talked that we were going to be together.”
However, their three-year relationship also had its lows as they were seen getting into arguments. There was also a time when a fight between them led to the ‘Edward Scissorhand’ star being arrested for trashing a hotel room.
Despite their arguments, Depp and Moss stayed together for three years until they split in 1997, with the actor saying he found it difficult to balance his hectic work schedule with his relationship.
The model admitted that the split left her brokenhearted for ‘years.’
Now 48, Moss is understood to be ready to lend a helping hand in his ex-beau’s case against Heard, who claimed that Depp once pushed Moss down the stairs.
Sources said that the incident never occurred and that the supermodel continued to show her support to Depp throughout the trial.
