President Trump just unveiled his 2026 budget online on Friday.
This is where he was seen proposing final cuts that totaled up to $163B in education, housing, medical research, foreign aid, energy, and protection of the environment.
At the same time, he was seeking to boost defense spending to more than $1 trillion. The mega $163B reduction in this non-defense discretionary spending is a 22% reduction from the current levels, as per a recent outline of the budget shared by the White House.
The proposed cuts to government funding are in line with his greater mission to reduce bureaucracy through the Department of Government Efficiency, and the White House was joined at the hip, working on the necessary outline as per the administration levels.
The President proposed raising the budget to $1 trillion but explained that it would only achieve that target if another $119 billion is passed as part of the current reconciliation bill in order which is currently being passed through Congress for approval.
The defense budget calls for the reduction of woke and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. No other additional funding for shipbuilding would be allowed.
