Deborra-Lee Furness was spotted roaming New York City without her wedding ring days before the news of her split from Hugh Jackman emerged.
The 67-year-old Australian actress was pictured out and about in The Big Apple on a solo trip on Tuesday. In pictures taken by the paparazzi, Furness didn’t appear to be wearing her wedding band. It is not clear if she wore the ring consistently while her marriage to Jackman was still alive.
For the Tuesday occasion, Furness sported a black shirt and black shorts while completing her casual look with a dark handbag and striped beige and black stockings.
The sighting came just days before the Hollywood couple revealed they were parting ways to focus on their individual growth.
In a shocking statement obtained by People, they said:
“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.
“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
The pictures of Deborra without a wedding ring emerged as an insider spoke to Page Six and claimed the split comes as no surprise.
According to the source, the pair grew out of their relationship and morphed into nothing more than “roommates.” The insider also said that friends and family knew about the rift because it “happened a while ago.”
