Think along the lines of just 75 minutes to get what he wanted out of the EU, sources shared. That’s how long he and the President of the EC were away from the cameras for behind-the-scenes discussions.

When they got back, Trump was very triumphant. He mentioned how Europe had agreed to purchase $750 billion in American energy products, invest $600 billion in new money across America, and purchase more US military equipment as per the latest terms mentioned in the preliminary agreement.

Trump boasted about how this is the largest deal ever made. The stated terms of the tariff deal seemed to be linked to a lopsided deal that was in favor of the US. The EU president shared how the only real concession from the US was the fact that the US President wouldn’t impose 30% tariffs that he had once threatened.
