Tragic reports have confirmed a shooting at an Air Force base in New Mexico.

The incident took place yesterday and reportedly left one airman dead while another was said to be seriously wounded in the attack, as per military officials.

They confirmed that it was not an act of terrorism but a serious attack carried out by an outsider that is currently under investigation.

Another statement was shared on this front including how security forces ended up responding to a shooting at the front of its entrances to the base at about 2 am.

One airman was killed at the scene while the other was taken to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to his hand and was later discharged, the statement shared.

The Air Force released a few other details and didn’t immediately say if anyone was in custody at this moment in time. But this matter is said to be concerning for obvious reasons. The spokesperson refused to comment on if the shooter or shooters were also airmen. For now, investigations are taking place as no names of the airmen shot were shared immediately.
