Disgraced rapper Sean Diddy Combs’ release from federal prison has been delayed by nearly a month.
This means his release has been shifted from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028, as confirmed by local media outlets. The reason is simple. He was found guilty of drinking inside prison.
The rapper is currently serving time at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey, following his sentencing in October for two counts of transporting individuals for the purposes of prostitution.
While the official reason for the latest date is yet to be confirmed, the change comes amid reports that Combs broke prison rules and included this consumption of homemade alcohol and being involved in a three-way phone call that goes strictly against the law.
His team has so far denied that he’s done anything wrong or been engaged in any kind of misconduct. They added how the phone call was attorney-initiated and within the privileges which are given to all inmates.
Combs went to jail in September of 2024 after a jury found him guilty in July of lesser charges. Then he was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges. His actual release calculation took into account credit for the time that was served. Now, it seems like instead of getting out early, he’s getting out late for breaking the rules.
