Israel just confirmed that it was cutting off the electricity supply to Gaza.
The full effects of this action were not clear, as to why it was doing this, but this means the area will no longer have any effective desalination plants receiving power for clean drinking water.
Hamas called out the actions as shocking and uncalled for, adding that it was trying to bring Gaza’s starvation policy into play.
Israel also cut off supplies of goods to the territory of over 2 million Palestinians, which was a mirror effect of the siege it imposed during the early days of its war with Hamas.
The fact that this news comes at a time when a ceasefire deal between both sides was brokered is concerning to many.
Just days ago, Trump warned Hamas to release all American hostages, dead or alive, or else they would face serious consequences.
Hamas wants Israel to move to the second phase of the ceasefire deal where all hostages would be released and in turn, Israel would withdraw all of its troops for a lasting peace deal. But from the looks of how things are being played out right now, that might not be possible, anytime soon.
