At least two individuals have tragically lost their lives after an aircraft erupted into a mega fireball and crashed into several lorries beside a motorway.
Horrifying footage circulated on social media showing a huge cloud of smoke rising from the crash site as emergency services raced to the scene on Sunday in Fort Worth, Texas.
The identities of those killed have yet to be revealed. Authorities are still investigating the actual cause of this devastating incident, which occurred at about 1:30 pm local time near Hicks Airfield at a commercial estate that was surrounded by different businesses and residential areas.
However, Lois Kinman, who is a spokesperson for the airfield, was seen confirming that the airplane was not based there, as per local media outlets. Emergency teams from different agencies, including Tarrant County, Haslet, Lake Worth, Newark, Saginaw, Eagle Mountain, and Fort Worth, responded to the crash.
Robbie Hoy, who is a public information officer for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, mentioned how the FAA would be handling the investigation to see what really went wrong.
