A Black teacher is having her say and expressing her dismay after the hotel staff where she happened to be staying ended up misbehaving with her.

 

Going on vacation is something that most of us dream about but this young woman explained how she was stunned beyond words when she was mistreated for wearing clothes that the staff felt were inappropriate. 

28-year-old Blessing Nwosu mentioned how discriminated against she felt after the staff told her to cover up her shoulders, right before one of them added a shawl across her. The woman stated how others were seen wearing skimpier outfits and they were just ignored. 

Moreover, she felt that the matter was really unfair and the only reason why she was being treated in this manner was due to her skin color. “They were white and had on outfits where a lot more was exposed. And here I am with bare shoulders so they have an issue because I am black”- she ranted on social media. 

The woman says she was so offended that she is now filing a lawsuit regarding this affair and is also asking for $1 million in terms of damages for the wide range of shock and humiliation that she was forced to go through during the Post Oak Hotel visit that took place in Houston, Texas recently.

The school teacher then made it a point to display what exactly she was wearing which got on the nerves of the hotel staff present there. This included a red colored dress in the halter-neck design that she adorned at her good friend’s birthday. 

“The manner in which I was approached was just too shocking. They placed a cream shawl over my shoulders because of the fact that the dress did not meet their standard”- she mentioned. 

But the hotel has since then argued and mentioned how everything was done very respectfully and this legal action happens to be nothing more than the woman trying to get her 15 minutes of fame.
