Courtney Love has shown her support for Johnny Depp, haling the actor for ‘saving her life’ when she overdosed outside The Viper Room club in Los Angeles.
The actress and singer shared how she almost ‘overdosed’ outside the Pirates of the Caribbean’s club in 1995, HollywoodLife reported.
“I don’t really wanna make judgments publicly, but I just want to tell you that Johnny gave me CPR in 1995 when I overdosed outside the Viper Room with Sal,” she said.
Depp is suing his ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018, claiming the allegations against him tarnished his career and reputation.
But Depp denied the allegations and claimed that he was the real victim.
Heard is countersuing for $100 million, claiming the ‘Edward Scissorhands’ actor had conspired with a lawyer to ‘attempt to destroy and defame’ her.
Love’s message comes in defense of Depp amid the ongoing court case against Heard.
“Johnny, when I was on crack and Frances was having to suffer through that with all these social workers, wrote her a four-page letter that she’s never showed me on her 13th birthday. He didn’t really know me,” she explained.
The actress also said that Depp sent limos to her daughter’s school when social workers were around so that she and her friends could go see the Pirates movies.
“He did it a bunch of times. He gave her her own seat with her name on it,” Love said. “I’ve never seen those Pirates movies, but she loved them. You know, she said to me when she was 13, ‘mama, he saved my life’. And she said it again.”
Love also voiced her sympathy for Heard amid the former couple’s high-profile defamation trial.
